We were tackled with a client based in Somerset and we had to cater to the area’s unique weather conditions. Given that it’s in part of the country that still regularly expects snow fall and receives the full treatment of typical British weather, we needed to build a set of Energy Saving Honeycomb Blinds that could stand the storm and test of time. The result of our efforts? A success story.
A set of Honeycomb Blinds in almost any given home, creates a thermal barrier that reduces heat loss by up to 46%, which is exactly why our design consultant Ruth made the recommendation to kickstart our client’s Somerset Savings.
In her exact words, Ruth said
“The customer needed to reduce the heat gain in the summer, reduce the glare, and protect their furniture from fading.
I suggested our ULTRA Smart Honeycomb Pleated Blinds or our manual operation Tensioned Pleated Blinds which they could easily adjust to address their needs as well as helping to retain warmth in the winter.”
Though the client had intended for the blinds to be a winter wall of thermal insulation, the same properties act as a thermal barrier to save money in the summer. On the one hand, you can insulate your home in the winter. Conversely, on the other hand, in the warmer months, the thermal barrier can reduce heat gain by up to 76%.
With all this in mind, Ruth knew to recommend the Honeycomb blinds to our clients. Afterward, she found that:
“The customers were happy with my suggestions and felt Tensioned Manual Blinds would work well on all the windows and doors – they opted for a blackout fabric in the bedrooms and TV Lounge and a translucent fabric on the long expanse of Bi-folds in the Kitchen/Living Area.”
