However, this might be a blessing in disguise for people with outdoor space. With long-range forecasts predicting plenty of hot days, the “Mediterranean lifestyle” we often promise ourselves could be a reality… especially long, lingering meals on your terrace (with appropriate social distancing measures).

It’s been a stressful period in many people’s lives, so we all deserve to treat ourselves – and home improvements are a wonderful way to give yourself lasting satisfaction.

Under the latest government guidelines, we are now able again to offer home visits for design consultations – following strict health protocols.

Our sizeable factory in Bristol allows our craftspeople to handmake our products in their own socially distanced workspaces. So we are able to fulfil orders as usual. Give your home Lockdown Summer Appeal

Al fresco dining under an awning –  Appeal’s range of awnings gives you the best of both worlds when dining – or sitting with a family member two metres away – on your terrace. The joys of being outside – aromas from the flowers (or barbecue), the sounds of birdsong (they’ve got bolder in recent months!) and a gentle breeze. If you need to cover a large area (to accommodate those extra 2m spaces), the Haus pergola covers an enormous 30 sq metres. Additional support is provided by telescopic legs, which can be angled to suit the conditions, and mean the structure is extremely robust if the wind picks up.

Keep OTHER bugs out – While there is no specific evidence that flies or other insects can transmit the Covid-19 virus between humans, there are plenty of other reasons for us not to want them breaching lockdown and entering our homes.

Appeal’s retractable insect screens for windows and doors are made from super-fine ClearVu mesh. Despite the barrier it creates for the tiniest of insects, this is almost as transparent as glass and allows a pleasant breeze to waft through your home. In operation, it is held closed by a magnet. Insects can’t sneak around the edges because of the side channels and brush seals. Door screens run along a flat track on the floor, so there is no trip hazard. When not in use, the screen is housed discreetly in a slimline cassette above your window or to the side of your door.

Bobby’s Back!

A favourite of many of our customers, Bobby, the West Highland Terrier from our TV adverts, is back.
